Adult Learn to Skate 16+

These un-parented classes will provide basic skating instruction in a group format. Classes are designed to teach and help skaters master the basic fundamentals of skating including; stopping, gliding, backwards skating, turning, as well as the proper technique for falling down and getting up. Our qualified instructors will use a variety of games and teaching tools to make this a fun, safe and educational experience for participants. Mandatory equipment includes: CSA approved hockey helmet (no bicycle helmets), skates, gloves and waterproof pants. *All skills must be performed accurately, consistently and confidently to be advanced to the next level. Level 1: No previous skating experience. Skater is unable to stand & move on their own. To advance to level 2, skater must be able to get up by themselves, march 1/2 width of ice and scrape. Level 2: Skaters will learn how to perform push/glide sequence, stopping and introduction to backwards. Level 3: Skills include backwards c-pushes, double sculling, one foot glides and more. Level 4: Skills include forward crosscuts, turning & jumping. Level 5: Skills include backward crosscuts, backward edges & turning. Adult Learn to Skate: No previous skating experience needed
